Faculty Research

Appalachian State Univerisity has a history in environmental research and continues its aim in research in environmental issues and sustainability. Students have opportunities for research in several areas because of the interdisciplinary nature of the program. Students can choose to research topics of their own interests or in the areas of their faculty committee. Current environmental policy research at Appalachian State includes areas of environmental policy analysis and change, environmental economics, renewable energy, planning and land use.
